Advisor starter guide

When your client needs operating help

A recognition guide for professional advisors.

Look for a pattern beyond your assignment.

Recurring cash shortages, weakening margins, missed commitments and decisions that always return to the owner may point to an operating issue. Your professional work may reveal the symptoms before the owner recognizes the pattern.

  • Ask the owner what is becoming harder to manage.
  • Notice repeated problems that financial or professional advice alone has not resolved.
  • Distinguish what falls within your role from where hands-on operating help could be useful.

Keep the roles clear.

You remain the trusted advisor. The owner retains final decisions. Erich brings operating experience, constructive challenge and execution support. An introduction begins with a conversation to determine whether there is a problem he can help solve.

Make a simple introduction.

With the client’s agreement, connect by email or telephone and explain the issue at a high level. You do not need to diagnose the problem before making the introduction.

15 minutes. Owner to operator.

Start with the problem.

If this sounds familiar, tell me what is happening in your business. We can start with a short conversation.

Let’s talk for 15 minutes
